Temple University Hosts Dr. Pavlovskaya for Benjamin H. Kohl Social Justice Lecture Series on "Seeing Solidarity Cities and What they Do for Urban Communities"

Dr. Pavlovskaya visited the Department of Geography, Environment and Urban Studies at Temple University by invitation from Dr. Melissa Gilbert, Director of the Center for Sustainable Communities. Her lecture “Seeing Solidarity Cities and what they do for urban communities” drew upon Dr. Pavlovskaya’s new co-authored book "Solidarity Cities: Confronting Racial Capitalism, Mapping Transformation" (with M. Safri, C. Borowiak, and S. Healy) published by University of Minnesota Press in December 2024.

The lecture was followed by reception and discussion with graduate students. Dr. Pavlovskaya appreciated very much the warm welcome and invigorating conversations with students and faculty of this incredibly creative department.
