Opportunity

Are you a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) major interested in doing research that applies your knowledge to Earth, planetary and environmental problems?

The AGILE (AAPI in Geoscience: Inclusivity, Leadership, and Experience) Research
Internship program
is open to all undergraduate students who would like to gain research
experience in the geosciences
(including the Earth, ocean, atmospheric, climate,
environmental and planetary sciences). Applicants who can articulate their personal or
professional experiences supporting Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI)
communities (including perspectives of those with multi-racial heritage)
are especially
encouraged. No previous research experience or knowledge of the geosciences is required!
Awardees will receive up to $10,000, including a stipend.

“Having the opportunity to explore a field with people of similar identities and experiences as me is something that I have been searching for. AGILE not only provides me with the ability to perform meaningful work within the geosciences but also creates a strong community between other AAPI students and mentors.” - Summer 2021 intern Casey Vigilia

Deadline to apply: February 1, 2023
