Internships
Hunter College and our program are working hard to help students move forward on their careers, even though we do not directly arrange internships and employments for students. Hunter College Career Center is the hub of such efforts. Here are some resources and information from the department and program.
Emailing lists
Make sure you subscribe both the geo-l and mgeoi-gis-l mailing lists within the department and program. All internship and employment information will be shared through these two mailing lists. We also encourage you to subscribe professional mailing lists in specific application fields like ecology, urban planning, transportation, etc.
Job Websites
All city agency jobs are published through https://cityjobs.nyc.gov/. Search GIS or related keywords and you will get the information.
New York State and Federal Government have similar job websites, if you are interested in.
GIS Jobs Clearinghouse is a popular GIS job website, particularly if you do not mind working in other states. The site also shares resources about other similar website. Another popular one is My GIS Jobs. Earthworks Jobs shares many jobs in Earth Science, GeoScience, and Environmental Science, including a section on remote sensing and GIS, although the website has a focus on academic jobs.
