SOLAR TOUR PROGRAM
The Solar Tour Program enables groups of Hunter College students, faculty, and staff to visit the solar photovoltaic system on the roof of the North Building of Hunter College’s 68th st. campus. Tour participants receive a brief introduction to solar energy technology, policy and economics from a student who is trained as a solar tour guide. Each tour is approximately 40-60 minutes in length followed by a question and answer period. Faculty members are encouraged to integrate the Solar Tour Program into their curriculum, and may develop customized tours with the Department of Geography, the department that administers the Solar Tour Program and maintains the Hunter College weather station that is co-located with the solar energy system.
