The Path of Hurricane Floyd
| Hurricane Floyd formed from a tropical disturbance (easterly wave) that moved westward from the coast of Africa on September 2, 1999. The system became a tropical depression on September 7. The path on this map begins at that point. The hurricane ravaged portions of the Bahamas on September 13–14 and posed a serious threat to Florida. |
