Creating simple features
Once
you've created a new geodatabase, there are a number
of ways to add data to it. In the last module, you learned how to populate
feature classes by importing data from shapefiles, coverages, and other geodatabase
feature classes. In this topic, you'll learn how to populate feature classes
using editing and geoprocessing tools.
First,
you'll get familiar with the types of features that can be created in simple
feature classes. Simple feature classes contain point, line, or polygon
features—they do not contain annotation, geometric network features, or custom
objects.
